Christianity has a lot of ways and means in reaching out lost souls. Most of which are so very vigorous. Some churches here in the Philippines even in the western countries, are reaching people by having crusades, preaching the Gospel in the streets, or organizing a concert and many more. I am not saying that these things are not good and effective but here in CSAFMI, where God has placed me, we have our own way of reaching other people because God gave us a specific Mission, along which comes, of course, specific ways to carry out that Mission.

One of these is what we call Mission the Profession. It simply means that we train ourselves to be professionals and then reach out the people who are also in that same profession. For instance, we will perhaps study in a law school so that we can become a lawyer but during the educational process, I will find opportunities to reach out for the would-be lawyers like me and even those who are already in the field. The Education paves the way for spreading of the Word of God to this “untouchables” of the society. Currently, we are conducting regular Bible study sessions through the life of our Air force personnel inside Basa Airbase at Florida Blanca. We have 8-10 persons regularly attending the said bible study and through them we are aiming to reach out every life inside that Airbase and bring them to Christ so that their hearts will be transformed by having personal relationship to Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. We pray that these Air Force people would be disciplined and attentive follower of Christ just like Airforce 1st Lt. Joy Abalos and Sgt. Cha Abalos, who have gone before them. As we minister to these Airforce couple, we can see their affection for the Word of God. They are now preparing themselves to reach out their co-professionals at Basa Air Base, desiring to be the one who will teach the Bible study there as soon as possible. But for now, they are starting to share and impart their personal testimony on how the Lord moves and work in their lives. The Lord has chosen professionals in different places to see every lost soul coming back to Him through them (co-professionals).

I personally think that it is important to share God’s Word in special and specific ways because as I have experienced it before “tusok-tusok ministry” (or doing ministry without specific direction and focus) may at first solicit many favorable responses but after few weeks or months all of them are gone without any positive result. Praise the Lord because now we are very much thankful because everything that we are doing for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ is bearing fruit –the kind that will last.

I urge you brethren in Christ, go and preach the Gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:18-20)…. Start sharing the good news to your co-workers, officemates, classmates, and co-professionals. Don’t be ashamed for Christ is with you, today is the time to respond not tomorrow. Sharing God is the noblest of all professions.

GOD IS AMAZING

It’s indescribable how God put the stars in the sky and know them by name. He is an amazing God. He is indeed amazing that we cannot fathom His love towards us. God knows everyone of us by name. He truly love and care for each one of us. It is sometimes hard to believe how God forgave all of our shortcomings and sins. God really cares and wants everyone to accept Him and His gift of salvation.

As we continue to study the word of God, we come to know that our God will never leave nor forsake us if we really believe and have faith in Him. Like what happened to one of the members in Marikina, God generously poured out His blessings and they experienced the goodness of God in their lives. This family is the host of the ongoing Bible study in that area in Marikina. As they continue to persevere and draw closer to God, they receive more abundant blessings that they didn’t even think that God would enable them to have their own company and have the chance to help other people. Moreover, through continues prayer her son was able to go abroad and have a good work there. Every time there are visitors in our Bible study, she would boldly give her testimony about how God amazingly changed their lives and how He answered their prayers. We are now holding our regular Bible study in their home at Conception, Marikina. These people are very eager to let other people know and see what we are doing that they keep on inviting their friends and persistently sharing it to their neighbors. They have shared how God worked in their family so that they too may be encouraged to join. These new believers are so eager to share their new found faith that even though there’s a space upstairs where we can quietly study the Word of God; they prefer to conduct our Bible study downstairs so that it would be visible to all people who would pass by their house. They really want other people to see that we are having Bible study as well prayer meeting in that place every Saturday. Now they are planning to buy a jeep and they said that they will use it for the coming anniversary. They are so thankful to the Lord even there are problems that come their way but they are still holding on to the promises of the Lord.

Other attendees of our Bible study are also so eager to let everyone in the group know their full stories and testimonies on how God continually and amazingly blesses them. As a matter of fact, last week, one sister gave her testimony that before they went to Bible study she felt dizzy and her head started aching. This sister is already at her 60’s but she ignored it and said that no matter what she will still go to attend the Bible study. She was still not feeling well when the Bible study began but God miraculously healed her as the Bible study was progressing. Before we end our session that day, she gave her testimony and allowed God to use her to let everyone experience God’s touch.

God is opening another door for us to have another Bible study at NGI. If we are faithfully serving the Lord He will amazingly open the windows of Heaven for us. God will surely gather the remnants and bring them back to their own pasture where they will bear fruit and increase in number. To God be the Glory and Honor.
